oscar blandi dry shampoo

i know, i know, it's the season of giving. but sometimes the deals this time of year are just too hard to pass up & you need to give yourself a little treat! hence, this post.

if you've been hanging around for a while, you've probably already heard me rant + rave about oscar blandi invisible dry shampoo (remember this post?). well, my sentiments are unchanged and to my absolute delight, livingsocial is offering this fabulous product at over 50% off (usually $25/can and now only $10 + free shipping)! hooray! i've already placed my own order to supplement my current stockpile but i thought i'd share before this offer runs out. here's the link: to buy + another for an invite to livingsocial if you aren't already a member (you'll get $10 towards your first purchase by using the aforementioned link).

tell me, what great deals have y'all found this season? don't keep them a secret!

weleda pomegranate line

i'm so excited to share some of weleda's pomegranate line with y'all today. i've been using their rosemary hair oil for several years now and can't say enough good things, so i was thrilled to try some of their face and body products for the first time.

the creamy body wash is exactly that. ultra moisturizing with the most amazing smell. it's free from synthetic detergents (as well as fragrances and colors), but lathers really nicely, something i've found to be pretty rare with all-natural cleansers.

the pomegranate regenerating hand cream is certainly going to come in handy now that the colder months are upon us. i've kept this at my desk and love how soft and moisturized my (usually dry) hands and cuticles are. and it seems like such a small detail, but this packaging is spot on. i hate struggling with tiny, hard-to-grip hand cream caps and this one is not only sizable but has ridges! hallelujah!

weleda's pomegranate natural firming serum was the product from this line i had the highest hopes for. for the past several years i've been gravitating more towards serums and gels than heavy creams or lotions and i'm happy to say this is one of the best i've tried. i've been using it morning and evening and have truly noticed a difference in the texture of my skin. it's non-oily and i love that it's packed with antioxidant-rich pomegranate.

weleda's pomegranate regenerating body oil was the next product i tried. it contains one of my favorite body oil ingredients- jojoba seed oil and leaves my skin glowing like few other products can. the only thing i would change is perhaps the packaging as it relates to application. the oil can come out quickly if you aren't careful and truthfully, you can get away with using just a few drops.

lastly, there's the pomegranate regenerating body lotion. this, along with the aforementioned body oil, were designed for "maturing" skin, which i know none of us have ;) i used it on my just-shaved legs and it was so soothing. personally, i think it's great for daytime use in between nightly applications of the body oil or for those that prefer the lighter application of a lotion over an oil.

i hope y'all enjoyed my review of this great line! in addition to those i tried, there's also a pomegranate night and day cream, as well as a firming eye cream. i hope weleda will consider expanding the collection to include a facial cleanser, i'd be first in line to buy!

sj + opi neon

recently i got my hands on stephanie johnson's jumbo zip cosmetic in miami yellow + OPI's new (first ever!) neon collection and i just can't get over how perfectly they pair together.

OPI's collection includes this bright, white base coat which i used for all the following swatches. it truly makes the shades pop (and would look equally lovely on it's own).

easily my favorite- life gave me lemons reminds me of penn tennis balls with the subtlest green undertone.

you are so outta lime! is a perfectly bright green that applies like a dream.

hotter than you pink is an ultra fluorescent with a hint of purple shimmer. i'd prefer it without the sparkle but nevertheless this is a gorgeous, fun summer shade.

down to the core-al is a neon coral with shimmer so subtle it's only visible in the brightest of lights. i love it! second favorite of the collection.

juice bar hopping is probably the truest neon of the bunch. bold, vivid and so fun.

push & pur-pull while beautiful, is a bit finicky in terms of formula, i believe because of it's thickness.

be still my neon-loving heart!

overall, i'm pleased as punch with this collection. i hope OPI will put out more neons, i can't get enough!

snapshots to share

three cheers for bright little goodies putting a smile on your face. here are some of my recent finds:
i might have gone a bit wild during super paper's online sample sale. in my defense, i've already busted open four of these stationary sets + sent out some proper correspondence. this set (hello! bunnies!) is certainly on my running stationary wishlist.

opi's mlb collection is full of new favorites. girls love diamonds (naturally) is my new shimmery go-to.

this delightful, neon swimsuit is by the brand zinke (such cute designs!) that i was thankfully able to track down in an anthropologie in north carolina. ever go on a wild goose chase for something you fall for online nearly too late, or is it just me?

recently got my hands on another installment of my favorite candle in the world- tocca's isabella. i swear it smells just like sweet, fresh summer watermelon. love. love. love it. now if only they'd concede to my wishes and release this scent in more products (body wash! perfume! hand cream! i want it all).

these delightful skinny hair ties were in the little girls' section of old navy for a mere $2! love those random cheap thrills.

recent beauty favorites

lately I've had awesome luck happening upon affordable beauty products I love. here's the roundup of the best of the best I had to share:

1 | korres brightening sleeping facial: I've been using this treatment overnight weekly and loving it's moisturizing benefits and melt-into-your skin texture
2 | marvis jasmine mint toothpaste: I bought this flavor after finishing up my sample sized marvis' cinnamint (c.o. bigelow sent with an order of mine). I love this flavor even more- so refreshing
3 | klorane leave-in magnolia spray: this was an impulse buy from urban outfitters of all places, mostly (ok, entirely) because of it's magnolia scent. bonus, not only does it pay tribute to my mississippi roots, it's also a great product for shine and detangling, especially after heat styling

these are the products I picked up during the sephora sale with my upcoming beach trip in mind:
1 | D&G l'imperatrice 3: the packaging of this scent reminded me of an old marc jacobs eau de toilette (anyone remember rain?) that's long since been discontinued, but prompted to me to pick up this bottle and give it a whiff. one sniff and into my basket it went (literally). I truly don't know how to describe this one, only to say that's its floral and musky in all the right ways
2 | josie maran lip and cheek oil in boundless berry: I'm a longtime fan of josie maran products and this gorgeous flush of color is one I just couldn't walk away from. I still prefer my tried and true benefit benetint for cheek stain but this one is perfect for lips
3 | md solar sciences spf 50 sunscreen: I'm always looking for new physical barrier sun protection products (sunblocks that utilize chemical barriers leave my face stinging and raw) and this one has certainly proved worthy. light, quick-absorbing, and a nonirritating scent- what more can you ask for?
4 | lavanila deodorant in vanilla summer: I love this brand's product but out of their collection could only ever stand one scent- pure vanilla. I'm pleased as punch they've finally released another scent I enjoy- vanilla summer. If you're wanting an effective, aluminum-free deodorant, definitely give this one a shot

Anything you're loving lately?
